I have solid expertise in PostgreSQL administration, design, and maintenance, with strong experience in server-side programming with PL/pgSQL and PL/Python. I also have knowledge in designing solutions with Oracle, MySQL, Firebird, and MS SQL Server.
Development
I develop both desktop and web applications, with a strong focus on Python, C++, C, and Object Pascal. I also work with PHP, Java, C#, and Vala, and I use frameworks such as Flask, Django, Qt, GTK, and WxWidgets to build efficient, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. My experience also includes working with Embedded SQL in PostgreSQL using C and the ECPG precompiler.
Team work
In IT, I believe teamwork is about combining agility with structure. I have worked with Agile methodologies using Jira and Confluence, but I also integrate CPM and PERT with tools such as TaskJuggler and MS Project. This hybrid approach helps me plan the master strategy while keeping sprints flexible and aligned with long-term goals.

I am an IT professional with over 30 years of extensive experience in the field of technology.
I launched my career in Brazil, before moving to Portugal 19 years ago. My expertise lies in PostgreSQL, along with software development using C++ and Python. I've consistently worked on database-centric applications, with PostgreSQL as the core database technology in every project. Throughout my career, I have not only served as a developer but also taken on the role of DBA, ensuring optimal database performance and integrity. Additionally, I have often guided front-end developers to enhance the efficiency of the interface between the front end and the database, leading to more responsive and effective applications.
